WebGIS
We have created a series of webGIS to support research data analysis and the publication of results.
We use different Free and Open Source software in order to provide OGC compliant services, as Web Mapping Service (WMS), Web Coverage Service (WCS), Web Feature Service (WFS) and Web Processing Server (WPS).
On the server side, we work essentially with MapServer and ZOO-project. We are an official "Knowledge Partner" of the ZOO-project and also member in its Project Steering Committee (PSC). We work on testing, documentation and translation as well.
On the client side, we usually use OpenLayers and GeoExt. We have chooses this technical solution due to its flexibility and the good interfaces being provided.
We also use GeoDjango and MapFish to interface our databases with the webGIS solutions.
Examples:
- HarvAssist: assistente alla vendemmia
- ACE-SAP: Biodiversity WebGIS
Harvassist - harvest prediction
