How to geocode maps from scientific articles

Sometimes you see a nice map in an article but the referred data points (for example, disease cases) are not listed in the appendix with coordinates. So? Easy - screen-capture the map from the PDF file (or scan) and use the free QGIS to re-geocode it. Then you can easily digitize the data points from this map. Get the tutorial here.

How to insert OpenStreetMap map in you web page

Insert an OpenStreetMap map in your web it is very simple. 
First go to the main page of  OpenStreetMap, now you have to click on the "Export" tab, then select in the checkbox "Embeddable HTML". You can also add a point in the map, clicking on the map or from your coordinates. 

To put the map in your web page you have to copy the link and paste it in the website.

That's all, really easy, right??
